Morris Blackman (1930 - 2022). Morris Blackman, American artist who worked and lived in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1959, where he twice received the Cresson European Travelling Scholarship as well as 3 Mural prizes, the Lux Graphic Prize and Figure Drawing prize. Blackman had one-man shows at PAFA and DeMena Gallery NY as well as participating in group shows at Reese Palley Gallery, PA. He was a member of the Graphic Sketch Club as well as a teacher at the Philadelphia Art Museum and the Fleisher Art Memorial. His works are many in private collections in Philadelphia as well as PAFA. Mixed media on paper. Mounted on board. Signed and Nov 01 on lower left and lower right. Artist estate stamp on back. Framed measures 64 5/8" h x 24 1/4" w x 1 1/8" d. Pictures measures 60 3/4" h x 21 5/8" d.
