MORRIS
MINI 850

VIN. #339530

- A MASTERPIECE DESIGNED BY SIR ALEC ISSIGONIS
- A CULT CAR
- WELL RECEIVED IN MANY EVENTS
- PART OF THE FIRST LOT IMPORTED INTO ITALY
- RESTORED INTERIORS. RARE ALMOND GREEN COLOR

Launched in 1959, the Mini was an immediate hit, with many appreciating the value of its design by Sir Alec Issigonis. Never before had such a small car with a front engine, for the first time placed in a transverse position, offered so much space for the vehicle’s occupants. Initially, Mini was marketed under two brands, Austin (which called it the Seven) and Morris (which gave it the name Mini-Minor), both part of the British Motor Company. Subsequently, in 1962, Austin Seven was changed to Austin Mini, and in 1969 Mini became a brand in its own right. The car offered, which belongs to the first series, featuring an 850 cc engine, was produced by Morris and was part of the first lot imported into Italy, where it was registered in July 1965. In November 1998, the first owner gave it as a gift to the family of its present owner, who had its interiors restored and gave it light spray in its original color, the rare Almond Green option, without removing the alloy trim and windows. With its mechanical parts well preserved, this is undoubtedly among the oldest and most original cars in Italy.
