MOSSBERG 550C PUMP ACTION 20 GAUGE SHOTGUN
SERIAL NUMBER: J347833. BARREL: 28 1/4" (INCLUDING CHOKE). GAUGE: 20 GA. CHOKE: SELECTABLE. CHAMBER: 3". LOP: 14". MANUFACTURED: 1983. This classic Mossberg Model 550C is a highly versatile, American-made 20-gauge shotgun. Designated by the "C" in its model name to indicate its 20-gauge chambering, this firearm seamlessly handles both 2 ?-inch and 3-inch magnum shells. This particular build represents the peak and final era of Mossberg?s built-in adjustable muzzle systems, produced just before modern internal screw-in choke tubes became the absolute industry standard in the late 1980s. The defining feature of this model is its integrated C-Lect-Choke mechanism permanently attached to the muzzle. This innovative system provides on-the-fly adjustability, completely eliminating the need to carry external tools or loose choke tubes in the field. By simply twisting the external sleeve at the end of the barrel, a shooter can instantly dial between positive, tactile markings for Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Cylinder restrictions to match changing field conditions in seconds. Further enhancing its field utility is a premium ventilated rib barrel topped with a traditional front bead sight. This raised rib provides a flat, glare-free, and highly intuitive sighting plane that assists with fast target acquisition while effectively dissipates barrel heat during extended strings of fire. Combined with the naturally light recoil and agile handling of the 20-gauge platform, this shotgun serves as an exceptionally versatile all-purpose firearm, equally suited for close-range upland bird hunting, tight-pattern turkey setups, or casual clay shooting. CONDITION: Very Good. The bore is smooth and shiny. There is a light scratch on the left side of the receiver. Small handling mark on underside of the forend. Operates normally. MODERN 27-501
