Title: MYSTERIOUS ADVENTURES No. 8
Place Published:
Publisher:Story [Story Comics, Inc.]
Date Published: June, 1952
Description:

CGC certified: Good+ (2.5). Off-white pages. No cover or script credits. Art: Harry Harrison, A.C. Hollingsworth, Ed Goldfarb, John D'Agnostino. Overstreet: "Eyeball story." GPAnalysis: No recorded sales in this grade. A 1.8 sold for $73 in 2018 and a 5.5 sold for $456 in 2019.

A weird snake-like creature lives in people's eye sockets, emerging occasionally to commit murder. Precursor to R. Crumb's sphincter-dwelling Snoid?

"'The Eyes of Horror' is the most shocking story Story has related to this point — with an 'Aliens'-style monster bursting out of the bad guy's eyeball. The tale ends with an inquiry of the reader: 'How do your eyes feel? HOW DO THEY FEEL RIGHT NOW?' No doubt this terrified 1950s comic readers!" — George Suarez, Tales To Terrible To Tell #5. NEC: 1992, p. 29.

A limited edition of 150 softcover and 15 hardcover catalogues is available. 400 lots, fully illustrated. Fun reference, great keepsake. Softcover $30, deluxe hardcover with dust jacket and limitation plate $200. Ten of the 15 hardcovers are pre-ordered and the rest will go quickly, so reserve yours now. To order, contact ivan@pbagalleries.com.
