Volume I with four-line marginalia in the hand of Thomas' owner signature, offering a correction to the printed text, stating in part:"this letter should be dated 1782' (underlining in original). Additional contemporary owner inkstamps and inscriptions to title pages of John Gray dated year of publication; Volume I with inkstamp to half title, Volumes I & II with inkstamp and inscriptions of Gray to title page and to following text leaf dated "1 April 1840"; Volume III with owner inkstamp of Gray to title page opposite title page crossed over, Ownership inscription of Gray to title page crossed over, and with ownership inscription of Gray to first contents page dated "1 April 1840." Interiors fresh with only light scattered foxing, faint rubbing to contemporary boards. A highly desirable near-fine copy, handsomely bound.'
