Mae Barbee Bruening was born in 1908, in Texas. Mae studied under artists in Chicago, Laguna Beach, and Paris. Mae was an active exhibitor, teacher and painter in the San Antonio art community. She was a charter member of the River Art Group, an active participant in the San Antonio Art League, and member of the board of directors of the Wonderland Art Galley, where she taught in their instructional program. Mae Bruening was named Artist of the Month in July, 1966 by St. Mary's University. Mae's art work can be found in many Texas churches. Mae Barbee Bruening died in 1994.
Condition Report: Good; several paint stains near center right edge, smaller than a pencil eraser each
