\Artist: Maestro italiano del XIX Sec, firma riconducibile a Luigi Nono (1850 - 1918)
Technique: Olio su compensato\Signature: Hand signed\Dimensions: 73_53_10_cm
Italian master of the 19th century, Triumph of cherubs, oil on plywood, dimensions 51 x 39 cm, signed L. IX on the lower right, attributable to Luigi Nono (Fusina, 1850, Venice, 1918) . Framed in a contemporary arched frame with mounting in the style of a small altarpiece. Proposed without reserve price! The subject of the painting, triumph of cherubs, is derived substantially without variations from a well-known composition by Corrado Giaquinto (Molfetta, 1703 - Naples, 1765) , originally created by Giaquinto for the decoration of the vault of the Church of S. Giovanni Calibita, Rome, in 1740-41, and then replicated by Giaquinto himself in an oil on canvas (cf. "Secret Vanvitelli, his painters from Conca to Giaquinto - the Cathedra Petri", catalog of the exhibition 4 March - 31 October 2014, Historic Apartments of the Royal Palace of Caserta) . Copying of ancient paintings was an extremely widespread practice among nineteenth-century academic painters, especially in the early and early years. The work in question may perhaps refer to the period of the 1870s, when Luigi Nono also made a study trip to southern Italy, and perhaps there he had the opportunity to see Giaquinto's work. The work has undergone a widespread restoration following some deterioration due to humidity. The ultraviolet fluorescence shows large repainted portions in correspondence with which, even with the naked eye, drops of color can be seen in the original pictorial surface below. On the back of the table the signs of humidity are evident. The work has been sanitized from molds and made completely safe. Work with Certificate of Authenticity and Legitimate Origin. The work is shipped by express courier 24/48 hours with INSURANCE. We inform you that in case of SALE ABROAD the shipment can be made only AFTER HAVING OBTAINED THE EXPORT AUTHORIZATION OF THE MINISTRY OF CULTURAL HERITAGE (Certificate of Free Movement of Fine Arts) . This practice generally involves a WAIT of about 20 days. At present, due to the measures to contain the Covid 19 epidemic, waiting times could be longer. Shipping costs for abroad include the cost associated with the Fine Arts export practice and any customs procedures. Customers wishing to receive a registered invoice are reminded to provide their TAX CODE for issuing the electronic invoice by sending a message immediately after payment.
