[ translate ]

\Artist: Maestro italiano, inizi del XVIII secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 142_195_9_cm
Size without frame: 124 x 178 cm. Size with (complimentary) frame: 142 x 195 cm. Oil on canvas depicting Rebekah's departure for Canaan. Italian artist, early 18th century. This monumental work is a further piece of artistic criticism of a theme that, through the master Francesco Solimena, has fascinated many artists of the baroque period. One version can be found in the glorious Zeri Foundation and another in the Pinacoteca di Bologna museum, this one instead belonged to the glorious Ildebrando Bossi collection, where it was given an attribution to the master Pittoni. Beyond everything, what made this work a point of interest for the great Baroque artists is its great complexity in a monumental context that places it as a technical-pictorial test-bed for every great master. In good condition, with patina. Re-stretched and re-lined. Small and insignificant restorations emerged under Wood’s lamp. Small lack of pigment in one area, as pictured. After being tested with solvents, the work has proved to be fully authentic. After the tests performed we can confirm the authenticity of the work, with a certificate of authenticity issued by our gallery with photos, as required by the law. Insured and tracked shipping.
