Magnificent George III samovar, 925/000 sterling silver, gross weight 2,490 g. Domed shape, sides featuring floral relief decoration and a cartouche engraved on the front with the monogram “MAW.” Mounted on a square base with four volute feet and openwork foliage. On the sides, floral handles made of bone, and crowned by a sculpted lion figure. The spout’s turning knob is missing; restored, dented on the left; signs of age and wear. Hallmark likely John Harvey I, London hallmark, with the year letter for 1766. Height approx. 54 cm.
