Magnificent clock, First Empire, early 19th century. A rare and fine gilt and patinated bronze and green wood, signed on the white enamel dial Levol a Paris. The dial with Arabic numerals and a fine pair of gilt brass hands for the hours and minutes. Parisian clockmaker Levol (fl. 1806-post 1839), whose name appears of the clock’s dial, that he was based at rue du Temple in 1806 and rue de la Corderie between 1817 and 1820. A wonderful antique clock for collecting and interior decoration. Length 33 cm.
