pencil and ink on thin cardboard
35 x 40 cm
Original comic art made by Magnus for "Lost Lives, " contained in Act II of I Briganti on page 33 and first published by Edifumetto in 1979. This work accompanied the Bolognese master throughout most of his career, from 1973 until his death, ensuring that the graphic style changed over time, following his stylistic evolution. Inspired by a 13th-century Chinese novel, Magnus develops the story in a science fiction manner: inspired by Flash Gordon and Saturn vs. Earth, he moves from the future Middle Ages to spaceships, in an exotic, fairy-tale setting he mixes realistic and technological elements, uniting East and West.
