Maître Orfèvre "C.D." - Paire salerons Art Déco - Salt and pepper shakers - Hallmarked Minerva 1st Title and French Protectorate Hallmark (1905-1919) - .950 silver

Extraordinary and rare pair of salt cellars, Art Deco period, in 950/oooo silver, accompanied by its interior verrines (linings) in star-cut Baccarat crystal - Circa 1905

This splendid pair, with the hallmark "C. D. à la cremaillère" for this French Master Goldsmith installed in Tunisia during the French Protectorate (between 1881 - 1956) , is hallmarked Minerva 1st Title in an octagonal frame certifying its very beautiful workmanship (hallmark used between 1838 and 1919) and by its embossed decoration of gadrooned palms, worked in the Egyptian style, is from the full Art Deco period (1905 - 1930) as evidenced by its "negro's head" hallmark used from 1905.

Its line is of refinement and extraordinary beauty with elegance marked by great sobriety which makes it a pair, pieces of Tableware of great craftsmanship and prestige.

These are rare pieces and difficult to find in this condition.
The interior crystal containers are in perfect condition.
All the silver parts are hallmarked with the head of Minerva (see photos) for 950/oooo silver.
The interior of the salt cellars revealing traces of vermeil (Silver and Gold) .

Total gross weight is approx. 85g for the whole.
