Malachite after Cuprite Chessy Copper Mines, Chessy-les-Mines, Villefranche, Rhône, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France "A floater octahedral green somewhat hopper shaped sharp pseudomorph about an inch across. From Willard Perkins collection. Got the specimen from Jim Minette when he bought most of Willard Perkins TN collection. I put him on to the collection. It was a finders fee. Got a lot of other specimens from the collection as well especially a lot of TN adamite specimens." - Rock H. Currier This is the other crystal habit that Chessy is most famous for - it's an absolutely classic example of the type. This must have been an awesome Cuprite crystal, judging by the form, before Mother Nature decided to give it a twist and turn it into a pseudomorph. Overall Measurements: 0.7 x 0.7 x 0.6 inches (1.7 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Finders fee from Jim Minette, Ex. Willard Perkins Collection [RHC #6780, acquired 1999] MinID C0D-TR0 [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
