Male Figure Modernist Style Plaster Bust Sculpture

A signed Estelle Goodman (1930-2007, American) figural plaster bust sculpture of a man with an all over painted surface. The male figure is presented with a raised shoulder, crossed arms and powerful countenance. The strong features are reminiscent of 1940’s styling. The bust is signed verso along the back Estelle Goodman. There is also a partial label near the signature. The work measures approximately 10.5 in wide by 9 in deep by 13 in high. This works exhibits age appropriate wear with nicks / chips photographed. ARTIST BIO: Estelle Goodman (1930-2007, American) was a modernist expressionist painter and sculptor during the mid 20th Century in New York. Ms. Goodman resided at the fabled Majestic on Central Park West at 72nd Street in Manhattan and had an art studio in her apartment. This work is from the Collection of Estelle Goodman. A collection that has only now been rediscovered. Her artist studio home had been vacant and under lock and key since 2007.
