Manara
Manara MILO MANARA THE SCENT OF THE INVISIBLE (Vol. 2) Albin Michel 1995 Original artwork no. 41. India ink on paper 44.7 × 48.7 cm (17.6 × 19.17 in.) What if the invisible man were a woman? Impossible in a Manara comic, since it is the female body that must be the object of ceaseless voyeurism. The stunning ingénue we see here is named Miel. A man, still a virgin, has invented an invisibility ointment that allows him to frolic with this lovely lady. Good for him! What’s enjoyable about Manara is that this erotic play never descends into vulgarity or pornography. It’s all about charm. And that charm is accompanied by a smile when, as in this scene, the burlesque element creeps into the story.
