The canvas is wax lined. The paint surface is stable but soiled. Frame abrasions at all edges with areas of associated paint loss. Under UV light, areas of retouching visible in the figure, particularly to his left thigh, red covering, chest, neck, and face. Opaque varnish fluoresces green and may obscure further retouching.
