FROMME, Lynette 'Squeaky' (born 1948) was a devoted follower of Charles Manson and a prominent member of the Manson Family. Unlike several other followers, she was not involved in the 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders. After Manson's imprisonment, Fromme remained loyal to him and continued promoting his beliefs. She became nationally known in 1975 when she attempted to assassinate Gerald Ford in Sacramento, California, by pointing a loaded pistol at him; the weapon did not fire. Convicted and sentenced to life in prison, she served more than three decades before being released on parole in 2009. She remains one of the most recognizable figures associated with the Manson Family. Group of five Autograph Letters Signed by Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme, each multi-page and signed "Lynette" with envelopes signed with her full name "Lyn Fromme". Written while in prison at Marianna, Florida, these letters from the late 1990's are addressed to Alex Obledo, some with good content, in small part: "...[2/11/96] I dont know that the public's perceptions are all wrong or that their calls for stricter punishment aren't natural. I just know that the people who say they want to solve the crime problem don't always want to give up the jobs or the economy of the justice system…[4/14/1996] When I was a teenager I saw too many adults dissatisfied w/ their lives wanting me and my peers to pursue the same life styles. For years and years the cultures of people have been sublimated or rejected in favor of financial betterment that was not in itself a satisfying end to its pursuers…I had asked the judge called 'Honor' to help me with the Earth but Manson is the only one ever willing to meet that request and make it his life's purpose. He was kept from the earth in boys schools and prisons for most of his life when I met him. Now, we can not talk or even write to each other and the things I talk about and care about are not, and have never been, important to the human gods of the planet…[5/27/1996] I am enjoying an extra day of week end. During the regular work week there is more tension around here and more stress. Environmental Protection Agency recently admitted that almost 50% of US waterways are not fit for swimming or fishing…" Much more.[2/9/97] Ive had plenty of sad times in prison and lonely times especially in my younger years, but Ive really never lacked for some way to learn or grow…[12/16/1998] The past cannot be changed but to keep making the same mistakes and following destructive & crooked paths is criminal - yet not in 21 years have I seen the people who rob people of land & cultures in prison. Nor the big bilkers or frauds or killers of life supports…" More. Fine condition.
