Mantel clock - Empire - Gilt bronze - 1800-1850
Large French ormolu bronze empire mantel clock
Orpheus with his lyre
Period around 1810, early empire
Material bronze, gold plated
8 day spring driven movement, pendulum with silk suspension fittings on full hours and once every half hour
Closet:
Very finely chiselled, ormolu-plated case.
Below the dial we see Cerberus the more stubborn hellhound with a tail like a dragon.
He is the guardian of the underworld, but is overpowered by Orpheus with his singing and music. In the console a Frisian with various expressions of art. The whole stands on 6 legs.
The clock was serviced a year ago, the timepiece runs perfectly and has been cleaned
The key is also included.
In one of the photos with the harp I have marked with a blue arrow where there is a small fracture in the leg, otherwise no defects
The clock can possibly be picked up from my home
