Exceptional Empire pendulum clock, France 1810, “L'Amour fait passant les temps”, in mercury-gilded bronze. Spectacular allegory of Time "Chronos" with sickle and hourglass carried by Love, armed with bow and quiver. Model by Claude Galle inspired by the song by J. A. Segur (1757-1805) , design by Louis Simon Boizot. A comparable pendulum clock was sold at auction in New York on 22 October 2005.
