Manuel Humbert was formed in Barcelona, becoming known through weeklies and magazines where he published his illustrations and comics, and debuted individually in 1915 in the Layetanas Galleries of Barcelona. Between 1909 and 1939 he lived between Barcelona and Paris, where he befriended Picasso, Modigliani, Soutine and Kisling. Founding member of the group Les Arts y els Artistes, he participated in the Salons of the Eleven and exhibited individually at the Sala Parés from 1927. In 1934 he was awarded the Nonell prize. He is represented in the National Museum of Art of Catalonia.
