Oil on tablex, 33 x 41 cm. The painting is signed on the lower left corner and it is titled and dated in 1976 on the back. The frame presents signs of the passage of time, it is not included on the sale, but it will be sent as a gift. Manuel de Gracia (Mora, Toledo, 1937 - 2017) started his career in Madrid, practicing at the Círculo de Bellas Artes workshops. He held his first solo exhibition in 1963 at the Sala Toisón, together with Manuel Cano and José Suárez. Later, he exhibited individually at the Eureka gallery and after that he showed his work in Valladolid and Santander. In 1973 he was awarded with the first Primer Premio Nacional ‘Pintores de África’ and he received a grant to travel to the Sahara, where he lived and painted the works he exhibited in November at the Dirección General del Sáhara. There followed exhibitions at the Bay-Sala gallery (Bilbao) , at the Eureka Gallery and at the Salón Cano of Madrid (1975) . After a long journey through The Netherlands, Belgium and France, he let himself conquer by impressionism, which the painter cultivated with special talent. He has been holding international exhibitions from Madrid and Bilbao, to San Sebastián, Castellón, Valladolid or Valencia, and international ones in the United States, Switzerland, France, Austria, Malta, etc. He has been present at hundreds of collective and individual exhibitions, and also at art fairs. His work, mainly dedicated to landscape, achieves a serene beauty, behind which a deep technical mastery and exquisite sensitivity hide. NOTE: The painting will not be sent to Taiwan because it contains wood.
