Rare large French manual spit in cast iron " Tourne broche" About 1850
Was formerly used to grill the meat by the open fire.
The running gear is turned up by means of a crank whereby the flywheel at the bottom starts to rotate and the spit is put into operation.
The rotisserie has two positions by moving the meatspider. You can choose from two different rotation speeds.
Lion feet shaped legs, bronze gears.
The grill is in the original state and can used at a garden party.
Complete with a handle to wind up the mechanism, a tripod witch a rack and spit.
Size with folded handle : 40cm
Base: 25 x 21cm
Total width including spit and rack : 75 cm
