Manufacture Royale the company was founded in 1770, making the brand name one of the oldest in the watchmaking industry. The name has been connected most notably with the manufacturing of timepieces and Objet's d'Art and perhaps its most famous of watch and clockmakers associated with the company was that of Jean-Antoine Lepine. The name through the centuries gently disappeared until in 2010 when it was revived by David Gouten, a distinguished Swiss family name in the Horology industry.

The "Androgyne" is Manufacture Royal's most famous and sought after model, allowing the wearer to view the intricate skeletal tourbillon mechanism through sapphire crystal glass to the front and back. The delicately designed bridge work incorporating as much light through the skeleton movement as possible making for a highly rewarding visual experience of technical dexterity.
