Each page with 2 columns, 32 lines each, brown ink, in Latin. One decorative initial ("I") with appended penwork extending into margin, in blue & red, decorative chapter number XIII, decorative title "MA" or "THE" in top margins. Overall 18.3x26.2 cm (7½x10¼").

Attractive leaf, accompanied by several letters from the Huntington Library in 2000, responding to a request for information about the leaf, reading in part "I think it very likely the vellum Biblical leaf you have dates from the 13th century and is probably French (or perhaps English)..."

"Beginning in Paris in the early part of the 13th century, scholars and scribes began to 're-design' the appearance and layout of the medieval manuscript Bible, so that it began to look very much like the leaf you have, made of thin white vellum, with two columns of text per page, a running title at the top of each leaf, numbered chapters, blue ad red initials and penwork decoration, and a smaller size than earlier folio Bibles..."
