Map of Virginia to Florida from circa 1590-1591

Copperplate engraving. This map accompanies the first edition of Gerard Mercator's atlas by Jodocus Hondius, and is the only regional one of North America present. It is a composite largely of John White's Virginia and Jacques le Moyne's Florida as interpreted by Theodore de Bry in 1590 and 1591 respectively.Map image size: 19 x 13 in. Overall size in frame: 21 x 18 in.
