Mappin & Webb Fruit & Nut Silver Set 1895 [178481]

Stovall 27: 1895 Mappin & Webb silver fruit and net set. Cased and hallmarked to 1895. This is a 7-piece set in a gadroon pattern. Very light use with minimal scratches. Includes two large berry spoons, two nutcrackers with two picks, and a set of grape shears. Case is solid but there is some damage to the bottom side of the case. There is an old Marshall Field note incorrectly dating this set to 1875 (the hallmark [x=#8220/]U[x=#8221/] denotes this as actually 1895). Elegant and beautiful set.
