The authenticity of this work has kindly been confirmed by the Comité Chagall.

Condition Report:
The work is in very good condition. Executed on cream wove paper and hinged to a window mount at two places along the upper edge of the verso. The left and lower edges are lightly deckled, and there are artist pinholes in all four corners and in the center of the extreme upper edge. One tiny nick to the lower right corner of the sheet. Extremely minor hairline craquelure in the thick areas of golden impasto in the lower left corner, visible only upon close inspection. The colors are vibrant, and the media is well preserved. The verso of the sheet is unevenly toned, and there is very minor skinning along the lower edge of the verso. Mild studio staining in the margins of the verso.
