Marc Chagall (Russian/French, 1887-1995)

Chagall Lithographs, volumes I-VI, published by Editions André Sauret, Paris, each volume in a different year. Sizes 13 x 9 1/2 in. (33.0 x 24.3 cm), each with its original pictorial dust jacket (four of which are lithographic; the last two are offset).
Condition: Minor wear to dust jackets, edges of pages darkened (primarily apparent to volume II).
Estimate $1,500-2,000

Volume I with 11 original lithographs plus the cover; Volume II with 11 plus cover; Volume III 1 plus cover; Volume IV 1 plus cover; Volumes V & VI with none, all as published.

Volumes I and, even slightly more so, II, have toning and staining visible to the edges of the sheets when the volumes are closed. The edges of each page also have gentle toning along the borders, which is darlest and the edges and gently fades away at about 3/8 to 5/8 inches in from the edge.

Volume III has only a hint of toning on the page edges. Volume IV has slightly less of both types of staining than Volume I (and more than III). Volumes V and VI have no apparent staining.
