Valentine's Day Card from Marc Davis to Alice Davis Original Art Gouache and Ink on Board (Walt Disney, c. 1970s/80s). This Valentine's Day, Disney Legend Marc Davis expressed his affection for Alice, his wife of 44 years and fellow Disney Legend, through a charmingly illustrated card. Using gouache and ink on an 8" x 11" board, Marc depicted a tender moment of himself holding their family dog, Penelope, while casually smoking a cigarette. The card affectionately reads, "Happy Valentines Alice Love from Penelope and Marc," symbolizing their shared life and love. Alice, a distinguished Hollywood costume designer acclaimed for her work on Disneyland's Audio-Animatronic costumes, shares with Marc a unique honor: both have commemorative windows on Main Street in Disneyland, a testament to their significant contributions to the magic at Disneyland. Marc, celebrated as one of "Walt's Nine Old Men" and the creative force behind iconic characters and attractions, including Tinker Bell and Pirates of the Caribbean, exemplified Walt's renaissance man. This personal artwork, framed to 11" x 14" and once gracing the Davis home, stands as a testament to their enduring partnership and creative legacy, presented in Very Good condition.
