This Valentine's Day card, exquisitely illustrated by Marc Davis for his wife and fellow Disney Legend Alice Davis, stands as a heartfelt symbol of their lasting love and partnership. Marc Davis, celebrated as one of "Walt's Nine Old Men" and a pioneering force at Walt Disney Animation Studios, infused this creation with the warmth and whimsy that characterized his work. Rendered in gouache and ink on 8" x 10" cardstock, the card delightfully portrays Marc alongside their dog, Smith, captures the joy and companionship of their shared life. Framed to 11.5" x 14", the artwork vividly illustrates Marc presenting a giant heart with Smith playfully jumping through it, a scene that mirrors the playful and loving nature of their relationship. Having met and bonded at the Chouinard Institute, Marc and Alice's marriage in 1956 was a union of creativity, respect, and affection, celebrated through Marc's frequent artistic tributes to Alice, a renowned costume designer for Disney's Theme Park Audio-Animatronics.
