Marc Hempel A Gregory Treasury #2 Story Page 1 Original Art (DC, 2004). A new world begins with the same old cell. Marc Hempel’s title page for "Gregory Learns a New World" cycles through Gregory’s sleep, bars, and deadpan silence before one blunt "GUG!" delivers the break. The unpublished strip was originally meant for Gregory #1 (1989) and later saw print in A Gregory Treasury #2. Ink over graphite with extensive stat paste-ups on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.5". Signed by Hempel in the lower margin. Panels 1 and 5 are fully original art. The remaining panels reuse stat reproductions of elements from Panel 1, combined with original ink additions and lettering. In Excellent condition.
