Marcel Breuer - Gavina - Armchair - Wassily Chair

[ translate ]

Iconic "Wassily B3" armchair/chair designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925 and produced by Gavina since 1962. In that year, Dino Gavina met Marcel Breuer in New York and convinced him to review and produce his designs from the 20s. After the sale of Gavina to the American company Knoll in 1968 and the closure of the Bologna-based brand, several products from the Gavina collection were sold under the Knoll brand name. The specimen up for auction in a beautiful warm cognac colour has slightly worn leather, giving charm to the item which is full of history. There are also numerous and scattered stains on the leather, that do not affect its functionality and sturdiness. The structure is in very good condition, with chrome plating still in very good condition. The armchair was found in an architecture studio in Florence. In addition to being thoroughly cleaned, the chrome plated and leather parts of the armchair have been polished and restored with special products. Insured shipping in Italy and Europe included in the indicated costs. For shipping to the rest of the world, the cost is approximate. We will provide a quote when the auction is finished, depending on the destination.
