Marcel Duchamp, Not Seen and/or Less Seen

[ translate ]

of/by Marcel Duchamp/Rrose Selavy 1904 64. New York, Cordier & Ekstrom, December 1964. Original embossed wrappers designed by Duchamp. 29 x 21.5 cm. 80 pp. profusely ills. in b/w with 3 tipped in colour plates. First edition of 3.000 copies.
Catalogue featuring works by Duchamp from the Mary Sisler Collection. Text by Richard Hamilton. When Mary Sisler saw this version of the catalogue, she was incensed that her name was less prominent than Duchamp's and demanded its withdrawal and reissue. Surviving copies of the first version are thus extremely rare. Browning and spotting on front and back cover. Extended portions of the wrappers uniformly worn, interior fine. + Added is a 4 pp. announcement for a group exhibition at Cordier & Ekstrom in January 1964 with Brecht, Calder, Morris, Rauschenberg, Watts and others.
