Marcel Wanders made his breakthrough in 1996 with his Knotted Chair, a chair made of synthetic resin reinforced rope that he designed for Droog Design in collaboration with Delft University of Technology. This design is included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (Mo. Ma) in New York. The Vitra miniatures are as similar as possible to the original designs.
