Margaret Putnam was known for her innovative techniques, her love of brilliant color and willingness to 'break and make the rules to achieve a desired effect.' She continued to work full time even after becoming partially paralyzed from Lou Gehrig's disease. Her mural at the top of the San Antonio Hilton Hotel is an example of her large-size work.
