Standing contrapposto on a polygonal pedestal, holding the infant Christ on her left arm as she hands him some grapes. Clothed in flowing drapery gathered across her body and falling in folds from her left arm. Walnut, unpainted, carved in full round. Restored, signs of age. Height 132 cm. The sculpture corresponds in type and style to the "Schöne Madonnen" made in the Rhineland in the first third of the 15th Century: like the Schöne Madonna in St. Foilan, Aachen from circa 1430, reproduced in Suckale, Robert (ed.), Exhibition Catalogue.
