"Series inspired by the poem Passato by Vincenzo Cardarelli. Started in the year his mother died, Giacomelli worked on it for four years.
Giacomelli retraces the places of his life, bringing his "alter ego", a young woman, his relative, protagonist of the series with a strong autobiographical charge. In these shots, Giacomelli's tension towards Unity is strong: the cancellation of the temporal gap of events, the elements that re-emerge from the past, such as the long floating hair or the bare branches of the old Caroline Branson series from Spoon River, which go to merge with the protagonist. The hair in the wind repeated in the two series is part of the artist's family history, being the hair of his daughter Rita (early 1960s) . The face and body of the subject are often repeated identically through superimposition, merging from time to time with different places from the past. Echoes in a hall of mirrors. "
