Das hier angebotene Gemälde entstand ein Jahr, nachdem er in das Haus seiner Familie in Suna im Piemont gezogen war, wo seine Gemälde mit weißen Hintergründen (fondi bianchi) entstanden.
Der Künstler studierte ab 1913 an der Kunstakademie in Bologna, wo er die Bekanntschaft von Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964) und Osvaldo Licini (1894-1958) machte. Um 1926 nahm er an der ersten Ausstellung der Gruppe Novecento teil und gründete die Gruppe der Sieben, zu denen u.a. Alberto Savinio (1891-1952) und Gino Severini (1883-1966) zählte.

The painting on offer for sale in this lot was created a year after the artist moved to his family home in Suna, Piedmont, where he made his paintings with white backgrounds (Fondi Bianchi).
