Illustrated hard boards ['18' is pencil written on the front cover, some wear]; 6.3/4" x 9.1/4"; illustrated endpapers, 64 pages, fully illustrated, a little wear and soiling, very good condition.

This is a story of a young boy who has a huge ball of string. He uses this ball of string for many different purposes. This book is the adventure that he goes on with his ball of string.

Marion Holland (J1908-1989) was an American children's book writer and illustrator. Her best-known books were A Big Ball of String; No Children, No Pets; Billy Had a System; and The Secret Horse. A Big Ball of String (1958), which sold more than a million copies, was one of the six original Beginner Books published by Random House, along with The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss.
