Modernist Marion Elizabeth Maas is a painter and printmaker whose subjects include landscape, still life, and figural paintings. She worked in a range of styles, some of which resemble cubism, and some of which recall post-impressionist Paul Cézanne and fauvist Henri Matisse.

Raised in queens, ny, Maas studied at a number of institutions including the pratt institute, new york university, and the art students league in new york. She began exhibiting her work regularly in the 1970's, but it was in the 1980's that she received recognition. Throughout her career, her work has been exhibited and collected by numerous institutions including the queens museum of art, the ridgewood art institute, the salmagundi club, the godwin-ternbach museum, and the islip art museum among many others.
