Mark Fontaine works on the image, the natural character, in painting and photography. Photography in particular becomes a tool of conceptual mobility that avoids any identification of the artist with the work and of art with the world. The surface becomes the field of iconographic appearance on which the mechanical eye of the photographic lens and the impulse of the hand that marks the photo intertwine. So work as always in a double direction. The multimedia artist in this case lives in many cultural, transnational, polychrome and polyglot climates. However, always productive of a constant present that shuns nostalgia for the past and rather seeks to suspect the signs of the future.
