Marta de los Pájaros - Walden: Exégesis site specific desde la cabaña de Thoreau

This collage appeals to Thoreau's particular vision of nature, close to the one Alexander von Humboldt's held in his untranslatable concept of Naturgemälde (meaning painting of nature) . The artwork depicts a hypothetical view from the window of Thoreau's cabin in Walden. This view encapsules the respect he felt towards nature as well as the way all its elements are intertwined and interconnected. Thoreau's philosophy is brought forward to reflect on our present, which demands an urgent conscious awakening concerning our planet’s health and the life it hosts, as well as a new approach regarding the increasingly exhausted and individualistic environment we belong to.
