Mary Blair Lemonade Girl Original Painting with Signature and Letter to Marc and Alice Davis (Walt Disney, c. 1970s). A must-have for any collector of rare original work by the great Mary Blair (1911 - 1978), this is a wonderful painting titled Lemonade Girl. Mary Blair gifted this delightful piece after her friends and colleagues Marc and Alice Davis bought the companion piece Watermelon Boy at a Cal Arts fundraising auction. This painting includes Mary's original hand-written note to Marc and Alice on her own stationary: "Dear Marc and Alice, This little gal was missing her watermelon boy friend - they belong together. I send her with love and gratitude for many happy times. There will be more - Mary." A heartwarming piece that showcases the friendship between the fellow Disney Legends, this painting is featured in both John Canemaker books Magic, Color, Flair: The World of Mary Blair and The Art and Flair of Mary Blair: An Appreciation on pages 172 and 76, respectively. In addition, this piece was also displayed at the "Magic, Color, Flair: The World of Mary Blair" exhibit at the Walt Disney Family Museum in 2014. It is worthy of note that the painting also bears the rare signature of Mary Blair. Acrylic on board, framed with a window size of 11.5" x 15.5" and an overall frame size of 13.5" x 17.5".
