TSOGO Mask The Tsogo live in the central loop of Ogoue River. They have a wide variety of masks and statues, though little is known about them. This is a MOWEI mask, used in funeral ceremonies. Its shape is reminiscent of a skull. These ceremonies were essential because they prepared the deceased's soul to join the ancestors' world and thus be able to fully fulfill its protective function.
