Very beautiful and very old helmet mask "Oju-Egu" with eyes half closed to the expression of recollection, emphasized with kaolin. Remains of green polychromy, yellow and blue crusty patina, which is similar to the typology of the nine royal masks of Ilah. Features: hardwood, vertical streaks on the face. Geometric patterns on the sides, the back and the top of the head. Traces of wear at the base due to use. Rare and of very high quality. Igala speaking peoples live in an area on the left bank of the Niger river. Height: 32 cm. Personal collection Former collection of a famous Parisian photographer. Sold with stand.
