Kifwebe Mask Songye/Luba, DRC (former Zaire) . First half of the 20th century. Wood and pigments. Height: 67 ; L. : 29 ; D. : 20 cm Comes with stand. Very expressive mask. Its square mouth is carved in relief. The nasal ridge is triangle shaped and extends to the forehead, with an important edge tapering up to the edge of the wood. The eyelids are particularly prominent and the eyes in the shape of a drop. Polychromy in ochre, beige and brown horizontal striations.
