Mask - Wood - Côte d'Ivoire - 1st half 20th century
Mask Dan, Ivory Coast. First half of the 20th century. Wood and calamus. Height: 24 cm; Width: 14 cm; Depth: 9 cm. Sold with a stand. This mask in dark wood opens through two pierced rectangular eyes, the borders are marked by a crusty patina, the eyebrows are incised in crescent moons. The mouth with hemmed lips is half-open and shows a little calamus tooth. Two thick braids fall on each side of the forehead. The whole circumference of the mask is pierced.
