Mask - Wood - Dan - Côte d'Ivoire
Mask Dan, Ivory Coast. First half of the 20th century Wood Height: 23. 5 cm; Width: 15 cm; Depth: 8. 5 cm. This mask in an oval shape which ends into a point is carved in dark wood, it has a shiny patina. The pierced eyes are in the form of a circle. On the borders we can observe traces of holes which very likely formerly allowed to insert a metal ring in it. The triangular nose is carved perpendicularly to the face of the mask. The mouth is slightly open and presents thin lips. The cheekbones are prominent and the forehead is bulging.
