Our mask, without attachment holes, was clearly not destined to be worn! This is a hut mask from the initiation camp. The "Ngaai- Amwaash" masks of the same type were also kept in this hut. Ex. Colonial collection Family Kazeu, Belgium. Soft wood type. Black, white, yellow and red ochre painting. Raffia textiles fixed with raffia wire and decorated with arie shells and glass beads. Eyebrows and around mouth raffia wire with threaded glass beads. Dry, not patinated inside. Cropped depths for eyes and nose.
