An early, expressive Lipiko mask of exceptional quality. The unusual of this mask is, that is shows and actual portrait of a Makonde man and is not like most others a stylized, more geometrical presentation. This Mask is made of cotton tree wood, carved very delicate and thin, the outside coloured black and attached with real human hair. Open mouth with carved teeth. Southern Makonde, early 20th century.
